17 Apr 2013 at RHS Doddington Hall
For many, the Gardens at Doddington are just as spectacular as the Hall itself. Remaining faithful to the original Elizabethan layout, mellow walls provide the framework for the formal East Front a regular pattern of box edging and topiary follows the outer original Elizabethan walls, leaving the central view of the Hall from the Gate House uninterrupted. Standing guard in the forecourt are four topiary unicorns. The West Garden is a riot of colour from April through to September. Beyond the West Gardens begin the lovingly restored Wild Gardens, a spectacular pageant of spring bulbs begins in early February with wonderful Snowdrops and Crocus Thomasianus. On Wednesday 17th April, Dave Newman our RHS tutor will be offering tours of the gardens, this is an opportunity for you to learn how to make your own garden more wildlife friendly. There will be two tours starting at 1pm and 2.30pm. Garden admission applies. For more information please call 01522 512510 or email info@doddingtonhall.com
